about

A small, slow journal.

On This Day is a private daily journal designed for one person: you. Not for sharing, not for posterity, not for an audience. That commitment is the product.

It came out of a frustration that most apps in this category fall into one of two camps: ugly mood trackers with shallow analytics, or beautiful long-form journals that become storage rather than companions. We wanted something between, structured enough to crunch, beautiful enough to want to spend years inside.

The thesis

Tools to journal your life privately, searchably, with meaningful visualisations and lovely features. Every feature decision gets held against that one sentence. If a proposed feature does not serve those four words, it does not ship.

How it works

Each day, a mood, a few small structured questions, and up to five hundred words. Optional photos with captions, optional location, optional hashtags, optional daily numbers if you want to track them. When something matters, write at length, full screen, no cap.

Over weeks, months, and years, your record accumulates into something that resurfaces forgotten moments and reveals patterns you could not see day to day. Day one is light. Year five is irreplaceable.

What it is not

Not a habit tracker. Not a productivity tool. Not a wellness app. Not social. Not for posterity. Not an AI product. The product never shouts. Never gamifies. Never says “welcome back!”

Who’s behind it
